My Yamato

This is the Yamato. It was a 72,000 ton battleship that the Imperial Japanese Navy built in the early fourties. It had 9 18 inch cannons. An 18 inch cannon fires a shell about the wight of a VW beetle for 25 miles. The British Navy once put an 18 inch cannon on a ship to try it out. The force created by firing it almost tore the ship apart. The Yamato had 9 of them. It had to fire in opposite directions simultaeneously to avoid capsizing itself. It only ever did one mission; a suicide mission. It claimed the greatest amount of lives of any military target ever, sinking 3 american destroyers, downing dozens of fighter and bomber planes and a handful of submarines before sinking. 2500 people died on board it, the entire crew.

The battleship was the stupidest and most beautiful thing mankind ever created. Concentrating thousands of tons of raw destructive ower into something that stuck out like thousands of tons of raw destructive power to anyone ever bothering to look. The bigger they were the bigger the target they were. To top it all off the thing could only move at the speed of a jetski.

Started my 'Super Secret Project' last night. I'll update with little clues and thoughts soon.

Interesting link here to a project relevant to what I'm doing at the moment:

The entire crew was not killed. There were 269 survivors, although 2,500 sailors did lose their lives.
