Can I just recommend this book to you. It's brilliant. Absolutely gloriously brilliant. It's incredibly horrifying and upsetting but also beautiful. It tells the story of the battle of Stalingrad in the second world war and is one of the most inspiring books I've ever had the luck to read a couple of times. Just pick up a copy. Hell, if you want it I'll lend it to you. Please read it.
